Research
Please also see my note to prospective
applicants.
Most of my research energy is related to the practice and use of clinical
psychological tests and measurement.
I am also interested in performance enhancement work with
competitive athletes.
Our current work in my lab is largely divided into 3 broad areas:
1.
Therapeutic Assessment. We have a large ongoing project to
investigate the therapeutic benefits of psychological and
neuropsychological assessment. We
also have a grant from the Society for Personality Assessment Foundation to
explore the psychological and therapeutic benefits of personality
assessment.
2.
Diversity in Assessment. Largely inspired by the brilliant
work of my students, this area of work examines how the practice of
personality and neuropsychological assessment are impacted by cultural and ethnic
differences.
3.
Health and Sport Psychology. This is a newer research and
clinical interest area for me and I expect it to take a primary role in the years
ahead. Beginning in Fall of
2011, I will starting a clinical and research
sport psychology clinic in concert with the Department of Athletics. I expect that much of my time in
2011/2012 will be spent doing this work.
