School Psychology International Survey Research Project

This project aims to advance our collective understanding of school psychology around the globe. Country coordinators around the world collaborated and provided leadership in completing the School Psychology International Survey (SPIS). The SPIS includes 83 questions across 4 sections:

I. Basic Demographic Information About Country Coordinator

II. Schoo Psychology Services: Professional Demographics, Responsibilities, Assessments Used, Inverventions Used

III. Professional, Research, and Legal Issues

IV. Programs, Professional Preparation: Characteristics of Students, Faculty, and Institutions

The School Psychology International Survey (SPIS) project was initiated by Dr. Shane Jimerson and Dr. Thomas Oakland in 2007. Country coordinators were invited to complete the SPIS near the end of 2007 and data collection was completed in over 50 countries during 2008.

The research team is presently completing data management and analyses.
