    • High risk behaviors (drug use, truancy etc.)

Research shows that psychotherapy and counseling are beneficial. We also know that some ways of conducting therapy work better than others for particular issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, and others. Check out our empirically supported treatments page to look at brochures, factsheets, and links regarding evidence-based treatment for many common psychological problems.

Hosford also recognizes that each client is unique and strives to adapt proven treatments to meet the mental health needs of individuals, couples, children, and families in the context of their culture and community. Student clinicians and faculty supervisors work together as a team to create treatment plans that combine what science tells us about psychotherapy and what we learn about you from sessions and assessments.

Mission

The mission is to promote the mental health and well being of the Santa Barbara community by providing culturally relevant, evidence based, psychological services.

Director

Dr. Heidi Zetzer, the director of the Hosford clinic, also oversees the Evidence Based Treatment Center.  You can find her bio here.
