STEP 2: OBTAINING ADDITIONAL HELP

For local families:

If you live in the Tri-County region (Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo County), please contact your Tri-Counties Regional Center to begin services with us. You may email us to learn how to set up services through your regional center. In our program, clinicians will train you in pivotal response treatment and help design a program that meets your family's needs. Once we receive an authorization, your child will be placed on our waiting list for services.

For families outside of the area:

After you have read the materials, if you would like more help, contact us at autism@education.ucsb.edu about additional information and opportunities for obtaining help.

3-Day Intensive Parent-Education Workshops: This intensive group parent training focuses on the participants' correct implementation of Pivotal Response Treatment procedures. This is accomplished through the use of lecture presentation, in-vivo practice, and videotape feedback. Each workshop is conducted with 4-8 families with similar needs and availabilities. These workshops are conducted at 3 levels depending on the primary goals of the child. The workshops are held at the center on the UCSB campus.
