New (6/1/08) Changes in Electives

Ed 197-01 "Special Topics in Education and Applied Psychology: Development of Play, Language, and Literacy in Early Childhood and Care Settings" that is being offered this Fall 2008 and taught by Dr. Kyratzis can be used as an Elective for the Education and Teacher Preparation Tracks. Please note, that the student is required to have the track advisor sign the "Course Approval for Substitution or Elective" form for his/her file.

New Change to Core Courses/Practicum Courses - Educational Studies Track

Ed 124 may be taken twice - up to a total of 8 Units.

New Change to Core Courses/Practicum Courses - Applied Psychology Track

Ed 171A added to the set of core courses, where 1 must be taken out of the following: Ed 123, 125, or 171A.
Ed 176B added to the practicum list, now allowing you to pick 1 out of the 2 courses: 165L or 176B.
Ed 165L may be taken twice - up to a total of 4 Units.
Ed 190 added to the set of core courses, where 1 must be taken out of the following: Ed 123, 125,171A, or 190.

New Change to Core Courses/Practicum Courses - Teacher Prep Track

Ed 111 added to the list of core courses, now allowing you to pick 2 out of the 3 courses.
Ed 122 practicum, may be taken twice - up to a total of 4 Units.

New (8/13/07) Changes in Electives

Ed 197 that is being offered this Winter 2008 and taught by Dr. Weissglass can be used as an Elective for the Education and Teacher Preparation Tracks. Please note, that the student is required to have the track advisor sign the "Course Approval for Substitution or Elective" form for his/her file.

Ed 197 that is being offered this Winter 2007 and taught by Dr. Bazerman can be used as an Elective for the Education and Teacher Preparation Tracks. Please note, that the student is required to have the track advisor sign the "Course Approval for Substitution or Elective" form for his/her file.

Ed 197 that is being offered this Winter 2007 and taught by Elissa Ross can be used as an Elective for all 3 Tracks. Please note, that the student is required have the track advisor sign the "Course Approval for Substitution or Elective" form for his/her file.

New (2-22-06) - ANNOUNCING A NEW COURSE

WRITING 60: PRACTICUM IN TUTORING WRITING

  • Are you a solid writer but want to improve your skills further?
  • Do you enjoy helping your friends when they write papers?
  • Do you want to learn how to tutor or teach writing (and be able to get paid for helping others)?
  • Do you like to listen to others and ask them question about what they have to say?
  • Do you enjoy meeting new people?
  • Have you successfully completed Writing 2, 2LK, or 2E?

If so, then this is the course for you!
In Writing 60 you will gain knowledge and practical experience that will improve your own writing and communication skills and teach you how to help others do the same. You will also gain experience that's good for your resume and that could qualify you to tutor writing in CLAS or other tutoring programs.

To learn more about what 199RA's are available to students, please visit the Frap webpage and look under Education. 199RA's must be taken with a Faculty member (not a lecturer).
