(18 Units Required)
Core/Practicum courses taken beyond the number required will count as electives
**Only one Ed 191 course (A, B, C or W) may be used towards elective units
**Beginning W10: Four of the courses within the educational studies track will be switched administratively from the Department of Education to the Department of Counseling, Clinical and School Psychology. For this reason the courses will have a new department code and number. The course content will be the same despite the change and each course will still count towards the minor as specified.
Ed 165 = CNCSP 101
Ed 166 = CNCSP 102
Ed 164 = CNCSP 110
Ed 171A = CNCSP 114
NOTE: Students in The Educational Studies track of the Education and Applied Psychology minor will be allowed to count only one course from the Ed 191 series as elective units for the minor. Contact the GGSE Student Affairs Office with questions.
NOTE: Ed 197 Special Topics in Education and Applied Psychology (2-4 units) may be counted towards the Ed & Applied Psych minor by track advisor approval only and each Ed 197 is not guaranteed to count towards each track. Contact the Gevirtz Student Affairs Office (sao@education.ucsb.edu) for details!
Students are encouraged to enroll in classes early as space is limited.
Community College and other lower division courses may NOT be used as a substitution for any minor course.
You may be able to transfer up to six upper division quarter units from courses you have taken at other colleges or universities if the courses are approved by the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education Track Advisor. Substitution forms are available at this webpage.
Please note that only 5 units may overlap between your major and your minor.
