The Applied Psychology Track of the Education Minor

Courses for the Applied Psychology Track. (NEW Requirements as of W10- Please View)

We are very excited to be able to offer the Applied Psychology (AP) track as part of the Education and Applied Psychology Minor. We hope that the information available at this web site will encourage you to consider the numerous academic and career opportunities available among the various applied psychology professions.

First and foremost, the AP minor provides a link to the Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology (CCSP) graduate training program, which is accredited by the American Psychology Association. The distinction and excellence that we strive to attain in our graduate program we also strive to bring to the AP track.

Our mission is to provide UCSB undergraduates with high-quality courses that (a) provide an overview of the various research and clinical applications of psychology across community, agency, and school settings; and (b) involve students in the areas of research excellence for which our CCSP department is known (including autism; school violence, school safety, crisis response, and bullying; multicultural counseling; gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues).

Our department is ranked among the top 10 in the country in these areas of research and applied practice. Our commitment to you is to make the AP track an educational option that will make you more aware of mental health and wellness issues and help you to explore research and related career options in applied psychology.
