The Teacher Education Program Application Information Meetings provide information regarding prerequisites, requirements for admission, instructions for completing the application process, and the structure of the Teacher Education Program with the Master's Degree in Education.
All applicants interested in applying to the credential program should attend an information meeting as soon as possible. Applicants may need at least one year to complete the state and university prerequisites required for admission to the program.
Since pre-professional experience is one of the prerequisites for application to the program, the Pre-professional Orientation and Placement Meetings immediately follow the Credential Information Meetings.

The Teacher Education Pre-professional Program provides individuals who are considering a career in education with opportunities to participate in school and classroom experiences at either the elementary or secondary level. It gives those who are undecided about a career in education a chance to see if classroom life is really for them. For those who are committed to a career in education, it provides valuable classroom experience in preparation for entrance into a university credential program. Pre-professional experience is required for entrance into most credential programs including the UCSB Teacher Education Program. In addition, UCSB students may enroll in ED 121 and ED 122 for three (3) units of credit.
