How can I prepare for applying to the Teacher Education Program?
Pre-Professional Experience:
To enter the TEP program, students will need 60 hours of Pre-Professional Experience, which consists of volunteer work in a classroom under an accredited teacher. Contact Judy Headley by phone at (805) 893-3976 or by e-mail at jheadly@education.ucsb.edu to be placed in a classroom or to find out if volunteer hours that you have already completed may be counted for this requirement.
Pre-requisite classes required for the TEP program:
Students may take certain UCSB classes to fulfill these pre-requisites
* If you think you have completed classes that are similar to these at a different University you may request that they be substituted by supplying a syllabus of the class in question. Contact Suzanne Raphael by phone at (805) 893-2036 or by e-mail at suzanne@education.ucsb.edu. *These classes are also offered the first quarter of the TEP program for the students that do not complete them beforehand. |
