Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership

Home / Graduate Studies / Ed.D. in Educational Leadership

Joint Doc Educational Leadership

The mission of the Ed.D. Program in Educational Leadership is to develop regional capacity in instructional leadership in PK-20 Central Coast schools, districts, community colleges, higher education and other educational agencies. To this end, we combine research and field-based practice into an academic experience characterized by cutting-edge training features:

  • A cohort learning model for working professionals supported by close-to-home, distance education technologies;
  • A year-round program, supplemented with special summer & winter leadership symposia;
  • An accelerated 3-year time to degree;
  • On going action research(PDD's) in regional schools and educational agencies;
  • A focus on issues in non-urban schools; and
  • Mentoring from an internationally, nationally, and regionally renowned faculty.

Ed.D. students are typically practicing professionals currently employed in leadership positions in higher education/community colleges, K-12 district/school offices, PK-20 classrooms, or related educational agencies. Our graduates hold or seek positions as: Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Principals, School-Site Leaders, Community-College/University Deans and Administrators, County and State Educational Agents, Non-Profit Educational Leaders, and Public and Private Educational Consultants.

PLEASE NOTE:

We are not currently accepting applications to the Ed.D. Program.
